What does ForIT mean?
ForIT stands for "Forward Information Technology". We help aviation companies improve their technology and build software with AI tools.
We are an AI-native software and IT firm for aviation. Our engineers build software with AI and review every change before it ships, our fractional chief technology officers (CTOs) and chief information officers (CIOs) plan your IT and manage your vendors, and our service desk supports your staff. When no product fits, we build one.
AI-native means the AI writes most of the code and a ForIT engineer is accountable for every line that goes into use. An engineer describes the tool in plain language, the AI writes it, and the engineer reviews it, tests it and deploys it in your environment. That is why work that used to take a team of developers months now takes one engineer and a person who knows the operation a few weeks.
Built on the Microsoft cloud
ForIT is a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider and an independent software vendor on the Microsoft platform. We resell Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and Azure licenses directly, and build aviation software on Azure, Power Platform and Microsoft 365. The software we build runs in your own Microsoft tenant, so your data stays with you and the tools keep working if you change providers.

How ForIT is set up
ForIT LLC was formed in July 2020 and is based in Seattle. ForIT Canada Inc. was incorporated in May 2026 so that Canadian operators can contract with a Canadian company, and its office is in Toronto. We work with Part 135 and Part 121 operators in the United States and with Canadian Aviation Regulations 704 and 705 operators in Canada.
Our own company runs on the same tools we sell. Claude Code sessions on one server do most of the typing, a gateway of custom tools gives them a safe way to act, and one consolidated database holds the records. We build for clients the way we build for ourselves, and we write about it on the blog.
Our customers page carries our case studies, among them a brand-new minimum equipment list approved by Transport Canada in under a week, crew records that flow to scheduling once a person approves them, an electronic flight bag program whose app updates go out when the coordinator clicks accept, the chatbot that replaced Intercom on this site, and new websites for two operators. When several operators need the same thing, we build it once and they share the cost through the ForIT Collective.
