AI Developer & Technical Publications Analyst
We're looking for someone who understands technical documentation, knows their way around SharePoint and Power Platform, and is comfortable using AI tools to get work done.
If you love technology and enjoy "vibe coding"—building things quickly with AI assistants, experimenting with new tools, and figuring things out as you go—keep reading.
The Opportunity
Aviation IT is changing. AI and no-code tools have made custom solutions practical in ways they weren't before. We're building an ecosystem of internal tools that fit how aviation operations actually work—not how off-the-shelf software assumes they should.
This role sits at the intersection of technical publications and IT development.
Location: Remote (US or Canada) Type: Contract (est. 20-30 hours/week, high renewal likelihood) Travel: Minimal (<10%) Compensation: Competitive rate based on experience
What You'd Be Doing
Technical Publications
- Manage and maintain aviation documentation (manuals, procedures, regulatory filings)
- Migrate legacy FrameMaker content to modern platforms
- Own document control processes and version management
IT Development
- Build Power BI dashboards connecting flight operations and finance data
- Work with FAA/DOT data to produce compliance dashboards for legal projects
- Create Power Apps and Power Automate solutions for internal workflows
- Develop and maintain SharePoint sites and document libraries
Day-to-Day IT
- Device management (iPhones, iPads, laptops)
- SharePoint administration
- Support internal tools and systems
As you grow in the role, there's opportunity to take on larger projects: custom maintenance tracking, safety management systems, AI-powered productivity tools.
What We're Looking For
Core Skills
- Power BI development
- Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- SharePoint administration
- Familiarity with AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar)
Nice to Have
- Interest in aviation (the perfect match if you love both tech and planes)
- Document control or technical publications experience
- FrameMaker or structured authoring background
- No-code/low-code development experience
We're open to candidates at various experience levels. What matters most is that you love technology, you're organized, can learn quickly, and are comfortable working with both documentation and development tools. If you spend your free time tinkering with new apps or building side projects, you'll fit right in.
About ForIT
We're a small team working with regional airlines, charter operators, and aviation service companies across North America. We build websites, internal tools, and automation systems.
Recently, we shipped an AI system that generated regulatory documentation approved by Transport Canada. That's the kind of work we do here.
We're a remote-first team that moves fast.
Why join now? You'd be getting in on the ground floor of a growing company. We're looking for people who want to help shape how we work, not just fill a seat.
